Wellness Escape with Lincoln

Lincoln Canada, Lincoln MKC, Wellness Escape, Rocky Mountains. Nordic Spa

As we prepare for the upcoming arrival of Baby M, hubby and I both thought it would be really nice to spend a relaxing weekend in the mountains. We’ve heard from several friends the first few weeks can be tough, so when Lincoln Canada gave us the opportunity for a “Wellness Escape” we couldn’t resist.

Our Wellness Escape included taking the 2019 Lincoln MKC to the mountains for High Tea at Chateau Lake Louise, then over to the Kananaskis Nordic Spa for a hydrotherapy session and staying the night at the Luxurious Pomeroy Mountain Lodge.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC was everything I had read on the Lincoln Canada website and more. We arrived in style and in the perfect frame of mind to Lake Louise! Some of the features of the vehicle that allowed for that were as follows:

INTELLIGENT ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (AWD)

Living in Alberta, we know the weather is very unpredictable and that was the case this last weekend. With snow in the forecast, we weren’t sure what to expect on the roads but knew that we were in good hands in the 2019 Lincoln MKC Crossover Vehicle. Earlier this year, I tried out the Lincoln Continental and last year the Nautilus and we had no issues whatsoever.

The Intelligent AWD uses sensors to constantly monitor traction and balances the torque between the front and rear wheels to ensure maximum traction avoiding wheel slip. Thankfully we didn’t experience any wheel slip on the road and we drove close to 300 km’s on our Wellness Escape.

ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL

Something we discovered in the Lincoln MKC was that Active Noise Control heightened overall cabin sound quality reducing unwanted engine noise creating more of a pleasant experience. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve had to push/knock on various pieces of interior to determine the cause of random sounds. The Lincoln MKC had none of that and we had a great relaxing drive.

SIX SPEED SELECT SHIFT

I don’t know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle and hubby loves to drive manual. Our compromise is looking for vehicles that allow for both types of drivers. The Lincoln MKC offers just that, the control of a stick shift with the convenience of an automatic. We took turns driving the vehicle as I saw how he enjoyed using the wheel mounted paddle shifters. I enjoyed not having to worry about that and let the automatic mode glide efficiently
through the six speeds.

EXTERIOR/INTERIOR DESIGN

Truly no detail is spared in the 2019 Lincoln MKC. There are so many amazing features including a Panoramic Vista ROOF (something I really like to allow for natural sunlight to enter the vehicle), Hands Free Power Liftgate, a Sculpted Exterior with the redesigned Lincoln signature grille, dramatic LED headlights with signature LED accents and Autofold Power Sideview Mirrors. On the interior, the leather wrapped steering wheel was so comfortable and the heated and cooled front seats ensured we both stayed comfortable in our space. The heated steering wheel came especially handy on our drive home as it was very cold and our hands stayed warm.

WELLNESS ESCAPE

Our Wellness Escape started with High Tea at Chateau Lake Louise. This is something that I’ve always wanted us to try but never got around too. With the cold weather, High Tea was the perfect choice. We had the most spectacular views of the mountains and indulged in the teas, finger sandwiches and delectable pastries. It’s been several years since we’ve been to Lake Louise and we couldn’t get enough of how charming it was. We both said that we should try and make it out more often.

Something else I love doing is exploring the hotel. There are so many cute shops and picturesque viewpoints. Next we decided to take our cliché picture in front of the mountains. I think I’ve had one taken ever time we’ve visited this iconic spot.

After a brisk walk along the pathway taking in one last view of the stunning mountains, we decided to make our way to the Nordic Spa.

But before then, we decided to go to Canmore as we were also celebrating hubby’s birthday. We really indulged and had a lovely meal at Murrieta’s. It was perfect.

We arrived to the Pomeroy Mountain Lodge late evening and checked into our room. The room had everything we needed and more. It was great. Hubby decided to try out the much recommended hydrotherapy pools while I enjoyed a warm hot chocolate and fireside s’mores. It was so relaxing – no phones, no distractions, just us enjoying our Wellness Escape.

After a great night’s sleep, we decided to head back to Calgary as it was snowing quite a bit. Our drive back in the Lincoln MKC was nothing but full of confidence as we had total control of the vehicle.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Wellness Escape was exactly what we needed to refresh and recharge to continue preparations for our baby’s arrival. The Lincoln MKC made our Wellness Escape truly amazing by ensuring our drive to and fro was in style, safe and comfortable. I had the vehicle for the week and it was great to drive to work, run errands and everything in between.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC is the perfect cross-over vehicle and I would highly recommend considering it as your next vehicle. Thank you again Lincoln Canada!

  2. A lot of my Lyfts are Lincolns and they are exceptionally luxurious! Lots of cars are fun to drive but not fun to be a passenger in; Lincolns are comfy in the front or back and ride great!

  4. I have actually never owned a car – I live in a big city where it costs more to pay for parking than it does to pay for the parking tickets you will inevitably get! However, I have been thinking of getting a car if I ever leave the city. I will have to look into a Lincoln!

  5. That Lincoln looks so fancy and chic! I used to drive an MKZ so I love to Lincoln brand. They are very luxury vehicles and the SUV gives you so many options for 4-wheel drive fun!
