This year we celebrated Father’s Day with the luxurious 2019 Lincoln Continental. Anyone who knows me will say that I’m daddy’s little girl – so only the best for my dad! Since my dad has always driven me around, it was my turn to play chauffeur in the Lincoln Continental. For our Father’s Day celebration, I planned a day full of shopping and then dinner at one of our favourite restaurants.

This year I was given the opportunity to take another vehicle in the Lincoln family out for a spin. The 2019 Lincoln Continental is luxury within reach. It has a bold sense of elegance as mentioned on the Lincoln Canada website and I couldn’t agree more. The Lincoln Continental did not disappoint. Some of the features that I really enjoyed in the vehicle include:

THE HEADS UP DISPLAY

I have to rank the heads up display as one of the top features in the 2019 Lincoln Continental.  It allows for drivers to choose what data they want displayed which can range from standard driving information to adaptive cruise control settings, lane keeping information and more. I really enjoyed having the speedometer right in front of me. Calgary driving means having to deal with glare from the sun. Even with my sunglasses, I had no issues viewing the display.  

360 – DEGREE CAMERA  

The Lincoln Continental has some great safety features. I felt completely in control of the vehicle at all times. The 360 Degree Camera, which has four cameras (front, rear and sides) that provide a bird’s-eye view around the vehicle, came especially handy when we were at the mall trying to back into a parking spot.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST

Thankfully we didn’t have to use the pre-collision assist but it’s great to know the Lincoln Continental has this feature.  Using radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead, the system can provide a collision warning and will apply the brakes automatically if need be. 

INTERIOR DESIGN

Where to begin with interior design? The Lincoln Embrace is none like any other with the Lincoln Logo Welcome Mat illuminating the ground on either side of the front door, auto folding mirrors, welcome lighting and the twin panel moon roof. The Continental knows how to make its driver feel incredible! What I really liked was the sleekness of the interior with its gorgeous wood trim – it was just so elegant. The centre console, in-door seat controls and the 19-speaker Revel Ultima Audio System was all so luxurious with no detail being spared.

PERFECT POSITION SEATS

I must mention that the Perfect Position seats were nothing we’ve ever experienced before. The seat back conforms to the passenger with the added element of power thigh adjusters.  I can see how this would come in handy on a longer drive or for taller drivers.

Once we were accustomed to our “new ride,” our first stop was the mall to begin our shopping date.  When I was younger, I remember going to The Hudson’s Bay with my dad and I would help him shop for shirts and ties. I thought this would be really fun activity to do with him and a great way to celebrate Father’s Day.

After a wonderful afternoon and some stylish purchases for my dad, we headed to Joey Tomatoes, one of our favourite family restaurants, for dinner. The evening was spent celebrating my dad with many laughs and a great meal.  It was such a lovely day and our time with the Lincoln Continental made it that much more special.

Looking back, this last week with the Lincoln Continental has been nothing but amazing. I’ve had the opportunity to drive it to and from work, for errands and a night out with hubby along with my wonderful Father’s Day celebration.
