Designer handbags – what can I say? Ever since I was a little girl, I always admired the Louis Vuitton and Prada bags of the world but the cost would deter me. I am an accountant and have always been a saver so it was really hard for me to justify spending anything over $50 on a handbag. Somewhere though, I had this desire to own one. Closer to my wedding, I thought that maybe I should invest in the LV Eva Clutch. It seemed like a great price point and a bag that I could use with both my western and East Indian outfits! After weeks of researching and debating the price point, which at that time was $600 CAD, I decided not to purchase the bag. Three years later I was still debating about it and the price had jumped close to $1000 CAD. I was really regretting not purchasing the bag when I had the opportunity. SO, in 2016, my hubby and I decided to go to Paris and I knew I was going to make this happen. The Eva was coming home with me.

The LV flagship store on Av. des Champs-Élysées is just lovely – a LV paradise so to speak. The sales associates are so attentive. We dealt with Remy in 2016 and I actually ran into him again in 2018 when we were in Paris.

Long story short, I purchased the Eva in Paris but came back to Calgary and exchanged it for the Favorite MM. So, I will review the Favorite here today.

What size do I have?

The Louis Vuitton Favorite comes in PM or MM. Since this was going to be my fancy handbag, I chose the MM. I felt it was more elegant and suited my frame. The size difference is fairly marginal but I always try the bags on and take several photos from different angles to see what looks best. I also make sure to bring a friend to get their opinion.

Favorite MM – 28 x 17 x 6 cm (length x height x width)

Favorite PM – 24 x 14 x 5 cm (length x height x width)

What Pattern Do I have?

The Louis Vuitton Favorite comes only in Canvas in the Damier Azur, Damier Ebene and Monogram. This is probably the toughest decision I faced. All three patterns are lovely. For me it came down to, what would match majority of my outfits and be that timeless elegance. So, I chose the Monogram and I’m so happy with it.

What do I carry in it?

The Favorite MM surprisingly fits a lot of things such as my iPhone 8 plus, car keys, lipstick and slim card case. I don’t pack my bag to the brim as my use for it is more formal. I have seen others pack a compact, small wallet, and several other things.

PROS:

-Multiple ways to carry the bag – crossbody, hand, wrist or shoulder with a removable strap.

-LOVE the golden color chain and the burgundy Sari Bordeaux lining.

-Feminine shape with magnetic closure.

-It’s comfortable to wear, light weight and easy to style.

-Fits a surprising amount of things.

CONS:

-No zipper closure like the Eva though I’ve never had any issues with the magnetic closure.

-Small interior flap pocket that I feel has no use.

-The golden plate on the front is very easily scratched.

Is it worth the price and final recommendation?

On the Louis Vuitton website, the Favorite MM retails for $1110 CAD. If you’re in the market for a LV and don’t want to break the bank but still want a designer piece to start your collection, then I highly recommend purchasing this bag. I have not regretted purchasing mine and would do it again without hesitation. It truly is the perfect handbag for all occasions.
