As a new parent, you will quickly come to realize the importance of having a well-packed diaper bag. Whether you’re going out for a quick errand or spending the day at the park, having all the essentials available can make a huge difference. So, what should you pack in your diaper bag to make sure you are always prepared?
Diaper Bag List:
Diapers and wipes: Make sure you have enough diapers to last the duration of your outing, plus a few extra in case of any unexpected accidents or changes. For wipes, I like to pack travel packs for easy and weight reasons. Also, don’t forget to replenish as you use them!
Changing pad: A portable changing pad is a great addition to your diaper bag, as it provides a clean and hygienic surface for diaper changes on-the-go. I also like to use pet pee pads on top of change tables.
Extra clothes: It’s always a good idea to pack an extra set of clothes for your baby, in case of any spills or accidents. Make sure to choose clothes that are comfortable and appropriate for the weather.
Snacks and drinks: If you’re going to be out for an extended period of time, it’s important to pack snacks and drinks for both yourself and your baby. Granola Bars, Fruit Snacks and water are so important.
Toys and books: Pack a few toys or books to keep your baby entertained while you’re out. Look for toys that are easy to pack, such as soft blocks or teething toys, and books that are lightweight and durable. We really like SkipHop toys and so there are always a few in our diaper bag.
Other mentionable items include: First Aid Kit, Sanitizer, Blankets, Portable Sound Machine and Sunscreen.
In conclusion, having a well-packed diaper bag is an essential part of being a new parent. We’ve also kept a variation or all of these in our diaper bag and haven’t been let down. If you’re planning on travelling, check out my must haves blog post here. Lots of great tips.
