Arts and Crafts have always been a part of my life. My mom is a huge craft lover. She has a room dedicated at home for all of her supplies. I remember as a child, my mom and I would work on various different projects. We’ve dabbled in everything from decoupage, floral arrangements, jewelry making and even T-Shirt painting. Some of our creations were also featured in various different pop-up markets over the years. Those were some really great times and a wonderful way for my mom and I to connect.
Sadly, we don’t have as much time to make any Arts and Crafts and so instead, we love visiting Holiday Markets. We’ve made it our holiday tradition to visit at least one Market to show our support to all the local artists, creators, makers and entrepreneurs. This year we will be checking out the Make It Calgary holiday market at Deerfoot City in Calgary.
What I love about the Make It Calgary market is that it is a retail show dedicated to supporting Canadian artists and designers. It’s about appreciating creativity, connecting entrepreneurs and giving shoppers an alternative to the mall. By supporting these markets, we give Makies an opportunity to do what they love. The founders of the market siblings, Jenna and Chandler Herbut, are talented makers themselves who created this amazing platform for all of us to share and experience.
The Make It Calgary holiday market will be held from December 6-9, 2018. There will be over 130 different vendors bringing their beautifully curated handmade goodies. I can’t wait to see all the creativity and talent in our city. Exhibitors will be selling everything from accessories, jewelry, clothing, art, home décor, food, baby/kid items and lots of other amazing items. This is the perfect time to get those unique holiday gifts for everyone on your list. I already have my list ready.
