When we received the MESA car seat and MINU stroller from UPPAbaby, we had so many travel plans for the year. We were super excited to take them both on our trip to Hawaii. Sadly, I think for many of us those trips did not happen. But everything happens for a reason and we got the opportunity to enjoy our MESA and MINU in the city.  Before I share my thoughts, this blog post is sponsored by UPPAbaby but all opinions are my own. 

MESA– SEE HOW SIMPLE

We really wanted a second car seat that we could travel with. It had to be simple and easy to use while maintaining all the necessary safety requirements. After a fair bit of research, we decided the UPPAbaby MESA car seat was the one for our family. It’s the only infant car seat on the market that uses the SMARTSECURE system – a self-retracting mini LATCH connector and a red to green tightness indicator that allows for a quick, accurate and easy installation.  It really is designed with features that increase safety by decreasing complexity. Who wants to deal with a complex car seat when on vacation?

We’ve all also heard of the travelling horrors where car seats and strollers get damaged. With UPPAbaby, they offer a TravelSafe program that guarantees gear during air travel. Such an amazing benefit of having an UPPAbaby products.

As we never used the MESA for travel, we installed it into our second vehicle and used it in the city. It was so wonderful to have that extra infant car seat. The MESA has advanced SIP (side impact protection) which keeps an infant’s head stationary during a side impact collision. Thankfully, we’ve never had to experience this but it’s great to know that the car seat has been designed with all considerations in mind. The MESA can be used for infants from 4lbs to 35lbs and up to 32’ in height. 

We really did like the MESA car seat and were glad we got the opportunity to use it for more than just travel. More importantly, we had the confidence of knowing our baby was safe and secure in the MESA. 

MINU – GO PLACES, BIG and SMALL

This is a MUST HAVE compact lightweight stroller. The MINU has been designed for daily adventures and exciting excursions. It weighs under 15lbs and is suitable for 3 months to 50lbs 

We were really excited to take the MINU with us on vacation. It’s super stylish and sleek and comes in a variety of colors including Jake, Jordan, Denny and Ryan. Not to mention, it is compatible with the MESA car seat with the use of an adaptor.

So how does the MINU fair?

I really enjoy taking the MINU when I’m running errands. Sometimes you just want something compact! The lightweight design combined with all-wheel suspension ensures for a smooth ride for our baby girl. This stroller is a one-hand action fold!  This is such an amazing feature as we all know how important it is to have an extra hand free for babies. The stroller also has a roomy seat with a multi position recline – if our baby girl wants to nap, it’s possible. 

There’s a large, easy access basket which stores our diaper bag as well as other everyday essentials. It actually is a really good size surprisingly for a lightweight stroller. What I also really like about this stroller is that it has a ventilated canopy and extendable UPF 50+ shade. This has been great for the summer as it’s been super hot in Calgary. 

My hope is that we can take the MINU travelling with us next year but until then we’re really enjoying using it in the city!
