Refresh With Bed Bath & Beyond

Bed Bath & Beyond, Living Room Design, Living Room DecorRoom Ideas, Beautiful Living Room

We all have that one room in the house that we want to refresh but don’t know where to start or what to do. For us, it was our Bonus Room (a.k.a. Second Living Room). With the extra time at home these past few months, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give this room the refresh it desperately needed. I’d like to thank Bed Bath & Beyond for graciously partnering with me to make this refresh happen.

So where to start?

FURNITURE

First, I decided the type of furniture I wanted to keep in the room and what I wanted to replace. I wanted to keep our sectional but change the accompanying ottoman. This decision would lead me to the next element in the refresh.

MOOD BOARD

Our couch is a beige/ taupe so I knew I wanted to bring some colour into the room. Blues, greens and possibly purple would compliment what we currently had in the room. I also knew I wanted to add a rug as well as a new lamp to give some character to the room. With all this in mind, I started the fun part of the refresh…SHOPPING!!!

SHOPPING

I worked on a majority of this refresh when Bed Bath & Beyond was closed and I was amazed by their website and the variety of selection. I also downloaded the Bed Bath & Beyond app which allowed me to browse on the app. With the ability to store my selections on the Idea Board, I was able to add any products of interest and review what I saved on any of my devices.

The rug in my mind would anchor the entire room so that is where my search began. Bed Bath & Beyond sells rugs from all the major retailers such as nuLOOM, Loloi, Safavieh and Surya. With all the search filters and parameters available on the website, I was able to narrow down the rug selection by size and colour which was extremely helpful. For our room, I chose the Tayse San Polo Damask Rug in 7’10” x 10’10” because I really wanted the vintage/Moroccan look. The colours are so bold yet subtle and match our sectional so well. And oh my…the rug feels so soft and luxurious on the feet!

Next on the list was the replacement ottoman. The Tayse rug has a beautiful blue in it so blue was our accent colour of choice. Bed Bath & Beyond has such a great selection of ottomans and benches. I found this beautiful TOV Furniture Velvet Upholstered Ottoman that looks and feels incredible. I also really liked the TOV Furniture Kent Textured Velvet Ottoman but found the round shape looked better in our space. What I realized was that I couldn’t really go wrong with either one of them and at the listed prices they were a wonderful deal. If you’re not on the Bed Bath & Beyond mailing list, I highly recommend you sign up because every so often they email a 20% off one item coupon and these coupons can be used on almost any item in store or online.

What I also really like about shopping on the Bed Bath & Beyond’s website is that there are items at all price points. I found this Stylecraft Home Collection floor lamp for only $69.99 as the other one I was considering was $399.99. I really like the long arm and the unique lampshade. It adds character to our room. We also added a new faux fiddle leaf plant to balance the lamp on the other side of the sectional.

A fun fact! Did you know that Bed Bath & Beyond offers easy cancellation of any item ordered online within 30 minutes of the order? I discovered this accidentally but something good to know.

For the pillows, throw and other accessories, I lucked out as the Bed Bath & Beyond stores opened. Following all Covid protocols, I found the cutest pillows at my local store. This Bee & Willow tassel pillow is so nice. Bee & Willow is one of six in house decorative furnishing brands that Bed Bath & Beyond carries. I also found a cute Ellen DeGeneres and Wamasutta pillow. The throw I chose was the UGG Denim summer throw. It is so soft and cozy. I love using a throw when watching tv no matter the season. To store all our remotes, headphones and other odds and ends, this basket is perfect. Throw a pillow on top and no one knows what’s underneath.  I also picked up this WoodWick candle for our coffee table.

We love how our bonus room came together with this refresh. The space is so relaxing and inviting. It is now the nicest room in our home and we look forward to spending our evenings in this room.

Bed Bath & Beyond has everything one needs for a room refresh. A large selection of items at various price points along with an easy to use website and in-store option made this refresh easy to do.
