The Best Waikiki Hotel: The Shoreline Hotel Review

Waikiki Beach Hotel, Best Waikiki Hotel

A few weeks ago, hubby and I spent one glorious week in Waikiki, Hawaii. This is our 5th time visiting Honolulu and 3rd time at the Shoreline Hotel, one of the best Waikiki hotels. Finding an affordable Waikiki hotel is very tough especially with the additional expense of the resort fee. The Shoreline Hotel is located in a very central area and is a quick 5 minute walk to Waikiki beach. It is also a great boutique hotel in Hawaii. These are a few of the reasons why we love this Waikiki hotel.

ROOM

As soon as we arrived to the Shoreline Hotel, we were recognized by one of the staff members. It was so nice to catch up and to be greeted by a smiling face. It’s always nice to have that rapport which led us to receive a room on the top floor with a view of the Royal Hawaiian and Waikiki beach. The room was very spacious and as we expected. Shortly after we were settled, we received a very generous “Welcome Package.” There were so many Hawaiian goodies to indulge on during our stay including Hawaiian chocolate covered Macadamia nuts.

The room had all the amenities we were looking for including a compact refrigerator, safe, daily replenishment of local coffee, tea and bottled water. In addition, we were provided with beach towels and chairs each day we went to the beach. Our room had a true Waikiki feel making it one of the best Honolulu hotels.

LOCATION

The Shoreline Hotel is in a very central location in Waikiki. It’s located on Seaside Avenue and Kalakaua Avenue. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk to Waikiki beach and less than 2 minutes to all the main shops and restaurants located on Kalakaua Avenue.  There is a Ross for Less right across from the hotel and The Nordstrom Rack on Kuhio Avenue is a short 5 minute walk as well. We have stayed at various other locations but find this one the most ideal for what we like to do.

LOBBY + POOL + HEAVENLY ISLAND LIFESTYLE

The Shoreline has a great boutique vibe to it and the lobby shows that. With its vibrant décor and playful spirit, this is a great space to hang out and truly represents Waikiki. There are also many activities scheduled throughout the week including various snacks, drinks, entertainment and monthly paint night. We partook in a few of these activities during our stay. The lobby also offers flavored water and coffee all day. The honeydew water was my favorite.

Sadly, we weren’t able to visit the pool and I just discovered online that the pool area is really very nice. Next time!

Aloha; Best Waikiki Hotel

Since there is no continental breakfast at the hotel, the restaurant connected to the building is one of our favorites, Heavenly Island Lifestyle. The food is so fresh and delicious. Staying at the hotel also gives you a 10% discount.

I can’t recommend this Waikiki beach hotel enough. It’s been one of our favorites since we discovered it and are already looking forward to our stay next year.
